My Internship Experience at Architech

Hi, I'm Kashish Verma, and I've been working as a Co-op Software Developer at Architech for the past 4 months. As my internship comes to a close, I'd love to share my incredible journey as part of the Architech Xccelerate Team.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I was welcomed by warm smiles and an amazing energy that made me even more excited to start my 4-month journey. During the first month, I was given the opportunity to dive deep into AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), LangGraph, and vector embeddings guided by some of the most experienced developers on the team. I completed hands-on exercises daily and began working with industry-standard tools like Docker, GitHub, and Azure.

This foundational learning wasn't just theoretical – it directly prepared me for the project I'd be building. Soon after onboarding, I was trusted with the responsibility of Technical Lead for my team. Yes, you read that right – Technical Lead! It was both a surprising and humbling experience, and I'm incredibly grateful that the team believed in me and empowered me to take on such a meaningful role.

We were named the Xccelerate Team, which couldn't have been more fitting. We xccelerated through challenges, ideas, and breakthroughs together, and I'm proud of what we accomplished.

Our AI-Powered Customer Support Platform

Our project focused on building an AI-powered customer support platform:

• We implemented intelligent automation using LangGraph, ReAct, and OpenAI's GPT-4o, handling diverse customer queries with agentic workflows.
• We boosted LLM performance using Semantic Search with OpenAI embeddings, pgvector, and HNSW.
• We also integrated human escalation, built automated CI/CD pipelines (with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions), and deployed our Python + React app using Docker and Azure App Services.
• Our stack included FastAPI, React with TypeScript, Langchain, CosmosDB for PostgreSQL, and a lot of teamwork!

As the industry rapidly shifts toward AI, Cloud, and DevOps-driven development, I feel lucky to have gained hands-on experience in all these areas.

Learning new technologies from scratch is never easy – but with a supportive team and a collaborative culture, this project became one of the most rewarding experiences of my academic and professional journey.
